Greetings to all of the members of our far-flung community of The Old Catholic Church, Province of the United States in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The House of Delegates and the House of Bishops agreed that an annual $20 donation from each family or individual member of TOCCUSA would significantly help our national church to carry out its ongoing work on behalf of all of us. This proposal, however, is not simply about raising money for the actions that we want our national church to undertake. It is also a way for all of us to consciously say to our church and to the world that all of us are part of one community, wherever we live and whatever local church community we attend. The work of our national church never ends; it needs our continuing support.
It is important to remind ourselves that the national church through the Executive Council, the House of Bishops and national committees continues to meet regularly and to carry out the work of the church in our troubled world. Because of the distances separating our various communities, it is sometimes difficult to comprehend the unity that binds our diversity together in one church in God's love. Yet even if we cannot attend a bi-annual National Assembly, we are all part of the national church, emphasizing our unity when we pray for all the members and communities in TOCCUSA and in turn are prayed for by the other members and communities. Giving to the national church is one way of acting on our prayers.
We are progressing in our great adventure as God's people in this place. Won’t you help us with this ongoing campaign? Every donation of $20 (or more) will contribute to increasing our unity and TOCCUSA’s presence in our world.
